Hi Ho SILVER 04-11-2008 10:06 AM

3% over spot ???

So I am about to buy silver bars...the local guy sells 100oz bars for 3% over, 10oz bars 4% over and 5oz bars for 4.5% over....

Does this sound like a fair deal?

Thank you

Re: 3% over spot ???

Between Ebay and my local dealer I have gotten into a "rut" of buying UNDER spot. I can't even remember buying at Spot price in years.

For Example: I went to my local dealer a couple of days ago. At the time spot price was about 18.17 I saw a civil war set with silver in it and inquired. The dealer told me it was an incomplete set and would give me a deal. There were 12 silver coins in it. Total price: 125.00

Silver coins were 20 grams and a few 8.5 gram .999 silver coins
Total silver : 7.26 oz and he threw in the nice wood box. Certs are included as well.

Recent ebay purchases (this last week) of gold Sovereigns (my favorites) average 211.00 each (including S&H) and one of them is a PROOF!

Hi Ho Silver, silver is down some $3.50 from its high, however it could still decline by a buck or two...$17.oo per ounce would be my entry point..

The premium sounds more than fair to me. I'd buy now...saving that .55 that may never come isn't worth quibbling over to me.

Now if you think silver will touch the 200 (under 15), that's another story. Personally, I think it will touch the 200, but the 200 will be much higher by then.
